Warranty Policy
This Warranty Policy explains the scope, limitations, and application of warranties on products sold by Container Sales Co. Inc. It is designed to reflect the industrial nature of shipping containers and related equipment while remaining clear, fair, and transparent.
All warranties apply to purchases made and delivered within the United States.
1 General Warranty Principles
Shipping containers and related equipment are industrial assets, not consumer electronics. Warranty coverage focuses on structural integrity and functional operation, not cosmetic appearance or normal wear.
Warranty coverage varies based on:
- Product condition (new, used, refurbished, or as-is)
- Product category
- Manufacturer terms (where applicable)
2 Warranty by Product Condition
New / One-Trip Containers
Coverage:
- Limited warranty against structural defects
- Doors, locking mechanisms, and seals functioning as intended at delivery
Exclusions:
- Cosmetic marks from transport or handling
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by misuse, modification, or improper placement
Used Containers (Cargo Worthy / Wind & Water Tight)
Coverage:
- Structural integrity at time of delivery
- Doors open and close properly
- Wind & water resistance as described
Exclusions:
- Surface rust, dents, scratches, or faded paint
- Wear consistent with prior service life
- Any modifications made after delivery
Refurbished Containers
Coverage:
- Repairs and improvements performed prior to sale
- Functional performance as described at delivery
Exclusions:
- Cosmetic variation between units
- Wear unrelated to refurbishment work
As-Is / Project Grade Containers
Coverage: None
3 Refrigerated Containers (Reefers)
Refrigerated containers include specialized mechanical components.
Coverage:
- Subject to manufacturer or supplier warranty terms on the refrigeration unit
- Structural coverage as per container condition grade
Important Notes:
- Electrical or mechanical failures after commissioning are handled through manufacturer service channels
- Improper power supply, misuse, or unauthorized repairs void coverage
4 Trailers, Chassis & Handling Equipment
Coverage: Manufacturer warranty only, where applicable
5 Warranty Claim Process
To initiate a warranty claim:
- Notify us within 7 days of discovering the issue
- Provide order details and photographic evidence
- Do not modify or repair the product before approval
6 Limitations of Liability
Warranty remedies are limited to:
- Repair
- Replacement (where applicable)
- Manufacturer service resolution
We do not cover:
- Consequential or incidental damages
- Loss of use, business interruption, or project delays
- Costs related to relocation or reinstallation
7 Buyer Responsibilities
Warranty coverage is void if:
- The product is modified without authorization
- Improper lifting, placement, or grounding occurs
- Use exceeds intended design parameters
8 Legal Compliance
This policy does not override rights provided under applicable U.S. law. Any implied warranties required by law are limited in duration to the extent permitted.
