Warranty Policy

Warranty Information for Container Sales Co. Inc.

This Warranty Policy explains the scope, limitations, and application of warranties on products sold by Container Sales Co. Inc. It is designed to reflect the industrial nature of shipping containers and related equipment while remaining clear, fair, and transparent.

All warranties apply to purchases made and delivered within the United States.

General Warranty Principles

Shipping containers and related equipment are industrial assets, not consumer electronics. Warranty coverage focuses on structural integrity and functional operation, not cosmetic appearance or normal wear.

Warranty coverage varies based on:

  • Product condition (new, used, refurbished, or as-is)
  • Product category
  • Manufacturer terms (where applicable)

Warranty by Product Condition

New / One-Trip Containers

Coverage:

  • Limited warranty against structural defects
  • Doors, locking mechanisms, and seals functioning as intended at delivery

Exclusions:

  • Cosmetic marks from transport or handling
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by misuse, modification, or improper placement

New containers may include manufacturer-backed warranties where applicable. Manufacturer terms govern duration and remedies.

Used Containers (Cargo Worthy / Wind & Water Tight)

Coverage:

  • Structural integrity at time of delivery
  • Doors open and close properly
  • Wind & water resistance as described

Exclusions:

  • Surface rust, dents, scratches, or faded paint
  • Wear consistent with prior service life
  • Any modifications made after delivery

Used containers are not covered for cosmetic condition.

Refurbished Containers

Coverage:

  • Repairs and improvements performed prior to sale
  • Functional performance as described at delivery

Exclusions:

  • Cosmetic variation between units
  • Wear unrelated to refurbishment work

Warranty scope is limited to the specific refurbishment performed.

As-Is / Project Grade Containers

Coverage:

  • None

As-Is containers are sold without warranty, except where explicitly required by law. Buyers assume all risk associated with condition and suitability.

Refrigerated Containers (Reefers)

Refrigerated containers include specialized mechanical components.

Coverage:

  • Subject to manufacturer or supplier warranty terms on the refrigeration unit
  • Structural coverage as per container condition grade

Important Notes:

  • Electrical or mechanical failures after commissioning are handled through manufacturer service channels
  • Improper power supply, misuse, or unauthorized repairs void coverage

Trailers, Chassis & Handling Equipment

Coverage:

  • Manufacturer warranty only, where applicable

Container Sales Co. Inc. does not provide independent warranties on trailers, chassis, or handling equipment beyond delivery condition.

  • Manufacturer service resolution

We do not cover:

  • Consequential or incidental damages
  • Loss of use, business interruption, or project delays
